Introducing Jazzell Smith

Jazzell Smith’s debut single, “Song of Love,” is her first step into the music industry and a heartfelt tribute to the love and guidance of her grandparents.

At just 11 years old, Jazzell already carries a deep appreciation for family, especially for her grandmother, Rosabella Jao-Arribas, whose influence is evident not only in her personal life but in her musical journey as well.

In an industry where young artists often explore themes of self-discovery, love, and ambition, Jazzell’s choice to dedicate her first song to her grandparents is both refreshing and deeply moving. The message behind “Song of Love” serves as a reminder of the often-overlooked importance of family, particularly the wisdom and support that grandparents provide.

“My grandma inspired me to release this song, and to me, it’s a reminder to always cherish our grandparents,” Jazzell said in an interview with Manila Standard Entertainment.

The song, composed by Arnie Mendaros, carries a message that resonates with many who understand the special role grandparents play in shaping lives.

It is no surprise that Jazzell’s passion for music is nurtured by Rosabella, the founder of RJA Productions, LLC, a talent management company that champions Filipino singers on the global stage.

Rosabella’s dedication to the craft has paved the way for Jazzell to grow as a performer and as an artist with purpose. She has instilled in her granddaughter the discipline and love for music that go beyond performance.

“She gave me the opportunity to be a part of her shows and to release this single. She also encouraged me to start singing and taking piano lessons, which helped me love music even more,” Jazzell shared.

Jazzell’s enthusiasm for her craft is also evident in her admiration for pop icons like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Sabrina Carpenter. These influences signal her aspirations in the pop genre, yet her foundation remains grounded in meaningful storytelling, as seen in her debut track.

“I love pop, and I would like to sing more pop songs in the future,” she said.

Another key figure in her development is Alisah Bonaobra, who serves as both a mentor and vocal coach.

“She is very fun and kind. I learned a lot from her. She makes singing more enjoyable,” Jazzell said.

Her words paint a picture of a nurturing learning environment where enjoyment and growth go hand in hand. Having the guidance of a seasoned artist like Alisah provides Jazzell with both technical skills and important tools as a newbie talent in a very dynamic industry.

Jazzell is definitely on a promising path. She is currently preparing to perform in Dublin and California to promote her single.

“When I see people appreciate my singing, especially in the shows where I perform, it makes me feel very happy and motivates me to continue improving,” she said.

If this is the foundation of her career, the future looks bright for this music prodigy.
