Amihan, shear line bring rains to Metro Manila

The state weather bureau advised on Tuesday that cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are affecting areas of Luzon and Visayas due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan.’

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), shear line will be affecting Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.

This shear line will bring heavy to intense rains to Quezon, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, and Northern Samar.

Moderate to heavy rains, meanwhile, are experienced in Aurora, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Marinduque, Romblon, Masbate, and Eastern Samar.

On Christmas Day, December 25, the shear line will also bring moderate to heavy rains to the fourth district of Metro Manila which covers Las Piñas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Taguig, as well as Pateros.

The amihan season will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in other parts of Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija.
