FORMER senator Francis Pangilinan‘s comeback bid got a hefty push with the endorsement of Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, making him the only non-Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas senatorial bet to gain her support.
Garcia said her decision to endorse Pangilinan was rooted in their “long-standing friendship that withstood the test of time and changes in the political landscape.”
“He really went out of his way to greet me and to say hello. How are you, give my regards to Pablo John. I was so touched by that gesture,” Garcia said during a gathering of barangay captains and mayors from the province’s 5th and 6th districts.
“Diyan mo talaga makikita kung anong klaseng tao siya (You can see there the kind of person that he is),” she added.
Garcia’s endorsement came ahead of Pangilinan’s scheduled “Kita-Kits sa Cebu Rally” later in the day (Wednesday) at the city’s Plaza Independencia.
Expected to perform during the event are his wife Megastar Sharon, Piolo Pascual, Gary Valenciano, Kuh Ledesma, Pinky Amador, and Darren Espanto. Pooh and Nikki Valdez will host the star-studded event.
