“I assure you that he (Teves) will not escape justice and he will not escape, if he makes any excuses,” Remulla said during the launch of the National Forensics Institute at the University of the Philippines- Manila.

The DILG chief emphasized that while Teves will be allowed to recover under medical supervision, his confinement will be strictly limited to the time recommended by his doctors.

“We will ensure that he is immediately returned to where he should be imprisoned,” Remulla said.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), which has custody overTeves, likewise affirmed that all detention protocols are being followed and that security remains tight during his hospital stay.

Earlier, the DILG reiterated its commitment to ensure that justice is served for the family of the late Gov. Degamo, in accordance with a directive of President Marcos and in line with the mandate of Task Force Degamo chaired by Remulla.
