Torre, PNP ensure school safety as classes resume nationwide

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Nicolas Torre III made rounds in Quezon City schools Monday to oversee the security preparations and public safety measures for the nationwide opening of school year 2025-2026.

Among the schools he visited were Batasan Hills National High School and President Corazon Aquino Elementary School, where he assessed security measures and interacted with school administrators, staff, and students to address their concerns.

Torre emphasized that the PNP is fully prepared for the school reopening, with robust security protocols in place for the safety of all education stakeholders and maintaining peace and order.

He instructed police commanders to intensify efforts against street crimes and ensure the students’ safety from any threats or disturbances.

To boost safety measures, the PNP has deployed 37,740 personnel across the country and established police assistance desks near schools.

The PNP chief also encouraged the public to report emergencies or concerns by calling 911, guaranteeing a swift five-minute response time.
