House Speaker Martin Romualdez sent his well wishes Sunday to Filipino fathers, honoring their “quiet strength” and daily “heroism,” as the nation marked Father’s Day.
“This Father’s Day, I honor the quiet strength and everyday heroism of Filipino fathers. These are the men who rise each morning with a single goal in mind: to build a better life for their children,” Romualdez said in his Father’s Day message.
The seasoned legislator drew from his own personal experience in celebrating the role that fathers play in the lives of their children.
“As a father, I know the deep responsibility that comes with that role. I understand the long days, the sleepless nights, and the unwavering hope we carry for our families. I have felt the joy of small moments with my children and the worry that comes with every challenge they face,” he said.
“I also remember my own father, whose values of humility, service, and love for country shaped the man I am today. His guidance continues to inspire me in my work for the Filipino people,” Romualdez added.
The Speaker noted that fatherhood is not just about providing the family, but also about “building a future our children can stand on with pride.” Like motherhood, the responsibility entails ‘strength, sacrifice, and love,’ he said.
“To all Filipino fathers, whether here at home or working far from your loved ones, whether leading from the front or standing quietly in support — you are the foundation of our families and the heart of our communities,” Romualdez said.
