Navy ship delivers aid to Davao’s Balut Island

The Philippine Navy’s BRP Tagbanua (LC296) delivered 2,000 family food packs this week to Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental in a humanitarian mission held from June 9 to June 11, 2025.

The Joint Task Force (JTF) Sinaya led the initiative under the operational control of Task Force Seahawk.

The food packs, supplied by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Davao Region, were transported from Davao City to Barangay Mabila.

According to the Navy, these provisions are crucial for replenishing the municipality’s dwindling supplies and supporting ongoing humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts.

The operation highlights JTF Sinaya’s commitment to ensuring that relief reaches even the most remote communities.

The mission reinforced the Navy’s role in delivering swift and effective aid to areas affected by natural disasters and other emergencies.

“The delivered relief goods are part of JTF Sinaya’s continued support for humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts, ensuring that fast and timely aid reaches even those in remote or far-flung areas,” the Navy said.
