CHR-youth group tie-up boosts gender equality

THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has partnered with the Philippine Anti-Discrimination Alliance of Youth Leaders (PANTAY) in the promotion of gender equality in schools nationwide.

CHR chairman Richard Palpal-latoc and PANTAY executive director Rye Manuzon signed a memorandum of agreement to carry out PANTAY’s Project GEIS (Gender Equality Index for Schools) that seeks to promote safe and inclusive learning environment through the Rainbow Report Card and the rainbow school kit programs.

The Rainbow Report Card serves as a gender equality assessment tool for schools, helping them evaluate how inclusive and gender-sensitive their policies, programs and practices are.

“This partnership with PANTAY is aligned with the CHR’s mandate to uphold the rights and dignity of all, especially the youth and members of the LGBTQI community,” Palpal-latoc said.
