A JOINT team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) has seized over P800 million worth of shabu concealed in snack boxes that arrived from the United States.
The interdiction was conducted Sunday (June 8) by the PDEA-National Capital Region in collaboration with the PNP.
The team confiscated some 120 kilos of shabu valued at P816 million hidden in snack boxes at a logistics warehouse in Pasig City.
The PDEA noted that drug traffickers are employing anew deceptive strategies to smuggle illegal drugs.
The shipment was consigned to multiple addresses in Taguig. City, Pasig City, and Makati City
However, no suspect has been apprehended.
“This interdiction success is a product of strong collaboration between PDEA and our law enforcement partners. Our presence in major airports, seaports, and cargo facilities is not just necessary. It is imperative,” PDEA director general Isagani Nerez said.
