Yulo reigns supreme in Asian Championships floor exercise

Carlos Yulo won the gold medal in floor exercise – the fourth in as many years — at the 2025 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Senior Asian Championships in Jecheon, South Korea Saturday afternoon.

The 25-year old two-time Olympic gold medalist had a final score of 14.6 points, off a 5.700 in difficulty, 8,800 in execution, and a 0.100 bonus for his clean.

It was a close fight for the podium, with Kazakh gymnast Karimi Milad landing second with 14.4 points.

This will be the second time for Milad to get a silver medal behind Yulo since last year in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where the Filipino took the top honors in the 2024 Asian Championships

Moon Geonyung of Korea settled for third with his tally of 14.033.

This is Yulo’s fourth year to bag the gold in floor exercise, which he also won in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

It was also his second medal in this year’s edition of the Asian Championships, after securing a bronze in the individual all-around Thursday.

Later, Yulo settled for seventh place in the still rings with a total of 13.233.

Yulo is coming off a 10-month layoff following his historic Paris Olympics double gold medal win.

He will still seek podiums in the  vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar finals on Sunday.

Meanwhile, his younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, is in contention for medals in junior men’s action, and in the vault, horizontal bar and the floor exercises.
