Growth expected as Cagayan Dream Bridge opens soon

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan—The Cagayan Dream Bridge, a P2.4-billion project, is currently being constructed to connect the towns of Camalaniugan and Aparri in the province of Cagayan.

This bridge will be an important part of the region’s development, boosting the economy and improving the lives of the residents.

Governor Manuel Mamba’s administration has been actively promoting the project’s progress, with a site visit and inspection conducted last Saturday, May 31, to ensure its timely completion.

The bridge is anticipated to enhance the movement of products and services, creating new avenues for investment and trade in Aparri, Camalaniugan, and Ballesteros.

The iconic bridge is part of the 5-Bridges Program outlined in the Cagayan Development Agenda 2025 of Mamba when he assumed office in 2016.

Mamba said the bridge will enhance socioeconomic development and boost productivity in Aparri, Camalaniugan, and Ballesteros, located in the province.

It is anticipated to enhance the movement of products and services and create new avenues for investment and trade.

The ongoing construction of the two-kilometer Camalaniugan Bridge—which crosses the Cagayan River in the northern Philippines and is known as the longest cable-stayed bridge in Cagayan Valley—will link the towns of Aparri and Camalanuigan.

It will serve as an alternate route to the Magapit Bridge in Lal-lo, reducing travel time from Aparri to Ballesteros, Cagayan, by 20 minutes.

The bridge will provide a new connectivity between eastern and western Cagayan that will benefit about 6,000 daily travelers and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in August of this year.
