Newly appointed Housing czar Jose Ramon Aliling has issued a circular calling for the expeditious handling and disposition of homebuyers’ complaints against developers.
“Homebuyers and other real estate clients encountering problems deserve better from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD),” Aliling said in a news release on Friday.
“We must exhaust all possible means within our authority to address these concerns fairly, transparently, expeditiously, and, as much as possible, without added stress and cost to homebuyers.”
The circular on “Providing for the Expeditious Handling and Disposition of Buyers’ Complaints against Developers of Subdivision and Condominium Projects” directed DHSUD regional offices to submit a bi-weekly complaints status report to the Central Office.
Aliling said the DHSUD would develop a mechanism that would bring homebuyers’ complaints to the Office of the Secretary.
“Let us include here the homeowners’ association’s problems – we’ll study how the DHSUD could help address your problems so you need not reach the court,” he said.
Aliling encouraged those who have concerns or complaints to forward them to email address info@dhsud.gov.ph or to Facebook page @DHSUDgovph.
