A 56-year-old costume maker who had been in hiding for 22 years was arrested by Manila Police District operatives for six counts of rape.
The suspect, identified as Alex Alfonso of Pilapil Street, Barangay 66, Tondo, Manila, was apprehended around 11:40 a.m. on Maya Street in Tondo.
Alfonso is currently detained at the MPD Warrant Section’s custodial facility.
His arrest was based on a warrant issued on August 21, 2002, by Judge Gregorio Sampaga of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 78, Malolos, Bulacan.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
