Aviation summit tackles airport security, customer experience issues

The 7th Philippine Airport Modernization and Expansion Summit emphasized the need for unified public-private efforts to improve airport infrastructure and passenger experience.

The two-day summit held from April 23 to 24 attracted 300 industry stakeholders, including airport operators, ground handling equipment providers, airlines, contractors, and design companies.

The event focused on discussing airport challenges, sharing best practices, and connecting with top solution providers.

It featured representatives from both local and international sectors, including suppliers and experts from Spain, Poland, China, and Singapore, demonstrating global interest in the development of Philippine aviation.

During the summit, stakeholders in the Philippine aviation industry highlighted the importance of collaborative solutions to address issues concerning transportation security and customer experience.

“If airports are modernized and operate with a more systematic approach to serving passengers, it will significantly benefit Philippine tourism by enhancing our hospitality, cultural identity, and tourist destinations,” Mykar Events Inc. general manager Ian Lim said.

Lim also noted that while government agencies are crucial for establishing policy and regulatory frameworks, the private sector plays a vital role in contributing innovation, technology, and capital investment.
