Three weather systems will continue to trigger rains in many parts of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather forecaster Benison Estareja on Sunday said the northeast monsoon or “hanging amihan” will affect Northern Luzon, bring colder winds and spawn weak to moderate rain.
Over the eastern side of Luzon, there is the shear line to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains in Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
Estareja said a huge part of Mindanao, the Visayas and Palawan will experience intense rainfall due to an intertropical convergence zone or the convergence of wind from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
He warned that possible floods and landslides may occur in those areas.
“Meanwhile, based on the latest (satellite) animation, there will be no entry of a low-pressure area or typhoon in the next three days,” he said.
