The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), in collaboration with the IRONMAN Group’s Sunrise Events, hosted a two-day sports event– the 5150 FAB Recon– which began December 7.
This simulation triathlon serves as the ultimate lead-up to the highly anticipated inaugural 5150 FAB Triathlon next year, organizers said.
Following a media conference on Saturday with Hussein Pangandaman, AFAB administrator and CEO, Deputy Administrator Malou Herrera, and IRONMAN president Princess Galura, triathletes headed to Camaya Coast, which served as the start of the course on Sunday, and the race culminated at the FAB Administration Building. The Recon race officially began on Sunday.
The invitational recon race featured seven teams, including Century Tuna Tri Hard, Sante Barley Triteam, Tri SND Barracuda, Fit PH, The Next Step Tri, Isabela Tri Club, and Go for Gold, with a total of 31 triathletes that participated.
In parallel, the FAB Run, a five-kilometer fun run designed to celebrate fitness, community spirit, and the joy of running, wad also be held, offering an opportunity for FAB employees and locators to join the action.
