The Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival (AOVICF) in Manila is still accepting applications for its 2025 edition, with submissions open until April 30.
Now in its sixth edition, the festival will take place from Aug. 20 to 24 in Metro Manila and is open to amateur choirs that have been in existence for at least two years. The competition features six categories: Children’s Choir, Equal Voices, Folk Song and Indigenous Music, Mixed Choir, Musica Sacra, and Popular Music.
Winners in each category will receive cash prizes, with the top prize for the Mixed Choir category set at 200,000 pesos. Winners in other categories will receive 150,000 pesos. Special awards, including Best Conductor and Best Performance of the Contest Piece, may also be given.
Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, an audio or video recording of two to three songs recorded within the past six months, a recent CV, and photos of both the choir and the conductor. Entries should be emailed to secretariat@aovchoralfestph.com with the subject line “AOVICF 2025: (Name of Choir).”
Registration fees are USD 400 for international choirs and 15,000 pesos for Philippine-based choirs. Confirmation of participation requires proof of payment by May 30.
Organized by the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Philippine Madrigal Singers, AOVICF is a founding member of the Asia Choral Grand Prix, alongside similar festivals in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
