Makati-based restaurant Toyo Eatery has received the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award from Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.
The award recognizes excellence in restaurant service and dining experiences. Previous winners include Singapore’s Zén and Odette, as well as Hong Kong’s Vea. Toyo Eatery, led by head chef Jordy Navarra and operations head May Navarra, was praised for its commitment to sustainability and cultural heritage.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants highlighted Toyo Eatery’s eco-conscious initiatives, including the removal of beef from its menu and plans to establish its own farm. The recognition adds to the restaurant’s growing list of achievements.
Toyo Eatery has been a consistent presence in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. In 2023, it was the only Filipino restaurant to be ranked, securing the 24th spot—a significant jump from its 42nd place in 2022, 94th in 2021, and 49th in 2020. The restaurant also received the Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award in 2023 and was named The Best Restaurant in the Philippines that same year. In 2018, it was honored with the One To Watch Award.
