Street fashion is all about embracing individuality through subtle, low-key elements that showcase personal style. It’s not about following flashy trends or making bold statements, but rather about combining comfort, simplicity, and creativity in unexpected ways.
From well-worn sneakers to oversized jackets and muted colors, street fashion allows the wearer to express themselves without needing to stand out in a crowd. It’s a celebration of urban culture, where less is often more, and beauty lies in the details.

With these principles in mind, global apparel retailer Uniqlo unveiled its latest collection for “Uniqlo : C,” a special line designed by renowned British fashion designer Clare Waight Keller, on Feb. 4.
Known for her sophisticated yet effortless designs, Keller’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection for both men and women focuses on functional materials and innovations that create an elevated, everyday urban uniform.
The collection prominently features nylon, a material originally used in sportswear that is both light and cool to the touch. Its smooth, breathable texture is paired with playful contrasts in color and design, resulting in a sophisticated yet comfortable collection.

Keller’s vision for this collection is clear: “This Spring, I wanted to embrace two key elements. The first is nylon. In recent years, polyester has dominated sportswear and daywear, even luxury ready-to-wear.”
“I wanted to return to sportswear’s roots, using nylon’s cool touch and fluid finish. Incorporating it into dress volumes, soft shirting, and running shorts and vests, I created a modern, sporty feel,” added Keller, who was recognized as Womenswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2018 and as one of TIME magazine’s most influential people in 2019.

Color also plays a pivotal role in the collection, with Keller experimenting with hues such as soft oranges that create a beautiful tonal richness in the pieces. This collection blurs the line between casual and formal, offering versatile designs that can be worn in various settings. Men’s wide-fit cargo shorts are paired with clean shirts, while the women’s Miracle Air Double Jacket, a lightweight, stretchy, and quick-drying piece, pairs well with Bermuda shorts or pleated wide pants to create a summer tailoring effect.
A fusion of sophisticated design and functional materials continues with pieces such as women’s gathered dresses, full-zip vests, and geared shorts, all made from nylon. These designs offer comfort and practicality, ideal for the spring and summer seasons. The sporty hooded pullover shirt, made of poplin fabric in deep navy and pinstripe, adds a refined touch to the casual aesthetic.

The collection is complemented by accessories such as soft puffy shoulder bags, cross-strap sandals, and slide sandals, all crafted from nylon, allowing for easy styling and versatility.
Uniqlo’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection will officially launch on Feb. 28 at Uniqlo’s Manila Global Flagship Store, SM Mall of Asia, and online at Uniqlo.com.
