Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio commended his team assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for the arrest of a drug suspect and the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P6 million.
The Customs agents, in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), intercepted the shipment from Canada containing methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu valued at over P6 million.
Rubio said this interdiction highlighted the government’s continuing efforts to combat drug trafficking through strengthened inter-agency collaboration
“We remain steadfast in our mission to safeguard the nation’s borders and protect our communities from the dangers posed by illegal drugs,” he stated.
