The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority—Western Traffic Enforcement District joined the Special Operations Group-Strike Force in the latest road-clearing operation in Manila.
The operation conducted along Radial 10, Moriones Street, Juan Luna Street, and Capulong Street resulted in 122 illegally parked vehicles being apprehended.
The team also cleared makeshift stores and other obstructions during the operation.
“The MMDA will further intensify the clearing of designated alternate routes, or Mabuhay lanes, throughout Metro Manila to remove road obstructions,” said chairman Don Artes.
The operation followed Wednesday’s road-clearing in Quezon City and Caloocan City, where 71 illegally parked vehicles and motorcycles were caught.
Owners of illegally parked vehicles face a P1,000 fine, while unattended vehicles will incur a P2,000 fine.
Towed vehicles will be brought to the MMDA’s impounding area located in Tumana, Marikina.
