Malabon exec feted for public service

Malabon City administrator Alexander Rosete was recently honored by the De La Salle Araneta University (DLSAU) Alumni Association Inc. – Graduate School Alumni Chapter for his dedication and commitment to research in pursuit of excellence in public service.

Rosete was recognized as the Outstanding Alumnus in the Research Sector at the DLSAU Grand Alumni Homecoming, with the theme DLSAU@79: Aspire to Greatness.

In 2024, the DLSAU also recognized Rosete with the Outstanding Alumnus in the Government Sector award.

“Research should not be limited in the academic area. Research is a powerful tool that informs decision-making, shapes policies, and drives innovation. As Lasallians, let us continue to strive and be a beacon of light that lets the world know that the field of research illuminates solutions to complex social hurdles and enhances our public engagements and services and that it is, after all, a cornerstone of nation-building,” said Rosete.

Rosete has conducted various studies in public housing, urban settlement, sustainable development, human resources, customer service, media literacy, process improvement, and innovation.

His efforts led to the creation of the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) in July 2023, which sought to provide quality and secure homes for Malabon residents in line with Mayor Jeannie Sandoval’s vision for improved housing programs.

As of January 2025, CHUDD has issued Certificates of Entitlement for Lot Allocation (CELA) to 478 families, enabling them to own the land where their homes are situated. Additionally, the city has completed 50 percent of the Libertad 1 mid-rise housing project (Building B) in Barangay Tinajeros, which will soon provide 88 housing units for residents.
