Tuguegarao City, Cagayan —A check for over P9 million was given to Regional Director of DA-BFAR 2 Angel B. Encarnacion for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Sustaining Batanes Waters initiative.
DOLE Region 2 Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal, Jr. personally led the handover ceremony at the DOLE Regional Office 2.
Encarnacion expressed his profound gratitude to the DOLE Region 2 family for their unwavering support for the fishing sector. The program aims to support 11 associations of fishermen from Batanes. The fund will also be used for the distribution of fish processing equipment and paraphernalia, the availability of motorized boats and equipment, and the support of aquaculture through tilapia fingerlings and feeds.
Batanes Provincial Fishery Officer Ritchie Rivera, DOLE Provincial Director Ramoncito Liggayu, and other DOLE RO2 employees were also in attendance at the award ceremony.
