KALIBO, Aklan—Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro said Friday his administration is currently working on making it mandatory to install wires and cables underground to ward off problems about the so-called spaghetti wires which are an eyesore for the public.
For several years, local residents have been complaining about the spaghetti wires that have resulted in accidents. These wires include a mix of electrical distribution lines, as well as cable television and communication cables.
We will do the underground cabling in Kalibo through several segments,” Sucro said in his social media post.
It was gathered that the first stages of the underground cabling to be implemented are the commercial areas in between barangays Poblacion and Andagaw.
These areas are host to schools, malls, and hospitals among others, with persistent heavy traffic almost a daily occurrence.
