A taxing crusade

Members of the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development, along with the Oriang Women’s Movement, stage a rally dubbed “Wealth Tax Now” at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila in conjunction with the opening day of the 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos – Klosters. The groups urge the government to correctly tax the wealthy, saying the revenues could address inequality by ensuring the people’s fundamental rights to essential public services such as healthcare, education, and housing.
