State-run Philippine National Oil Co. is seeking bids for the conduct of a feasibility study for the hybridization of the seven diesel power plants of National Power Corp.-Small Power Utilities Group.
PNOC approved a budget of P3.5 million for the hiring of a consultant to conduct the feasibility study.
“With the technical design and system capacity sizing already conducted by a technical solutions provider, this study aims to conduct a feasibility study to satisfy the requirements of the Department of Energy (DOE) for the application of a Solar Energy Operating Contract (SEOC) and assess the impacts of the proposed hybridization on economic, environmental, social, and operational aspects to inform decision-making, project implementation, and scaling up plans,” it said.
PNOC said it is working with the NPC-SPUG to implement renewable energy solutions across various off-grid islands.
