Aboitiz Power eyes 359-MW RE projects

Aboitiz Power Corp. is constructing 359.5 megawatts of renewable energy capacity and 48 megawatts of battery energy storage system projects for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026.

“To date, Aboitiz Power has also begun the construction of an additional unit of coal, two solar power plants, three battery energy storage projects, and our first wind project, which we target to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026,” AboitizPower president and chief executive Danel Aboitiz said during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting.

These include the attributable capacity from the 212-MWpeak Olongapo solar project, 89-MWp San Manuel solar project, 20-MW Bay BESS, 8-MW Magat BESS, 58.5-MW CamSur wind and 20-MW Binga BESS.

Aboitiz said the company energized three solar plants with a cumulative capacity of 377 MW and 12 MW battery energy storage system in 2024, bringing AboitizPower’s attributable capacity to 5 GW by end of 2024.
