BSP launches mobile app to enhance info services

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Tuesday launched a mobile phone app designed to enhance the accessibility of BSP information, financial data and services for both Filipinos and investors.

“The BSP mobile app is our way of staying connected with the public. It allows users to check key rates and public announcements, locate coin deposit machines or BSP offices, file complaints through our chatbot BOB, and stay updated with BSP news and advisories,” BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said.

BSP managing director Charina De Vera-Yap said the new platform aims to enhance experience and encourage greater interaction with the BSP.

“Once downloaded, the app can be accessed anytime, even offline, and offers personalization to match your specific needs and interests,” she said.

Developed in-house, the app complements the BSP website by offering personalized experience tailored to mobile devices.

The app takes advantage of device-specific capabilities, such as push notifications and location services, to serve its users.

Key features include a service locator to assist users in identifying BSP regional offices, real-time push notifications for the direct delivery of BSP news and advisories to user devices, the BSP Online Buddy (BOB) to provide support to consumers with complaints concerning BSP-supervised institutions and an interactive 1000-piso polymer banknote feature that allows users to examine the banknote’s design and security elements.

The BSP said it continues to enhance the app and plans to offer more features and services. The app is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
