State-run Land Bank of the Philippines said it teamed up with Central Luzon State University (CLSU) to launch a “cash-lite campus” initiative to create a more secure, efficient and convenient way for the university community to manage daily financial transactions.
The initiative, launched on April 8, 2025, will integrate digital payment solutions for students, faculty and staff to conduct transactions with the university’s business centers, food vendors, merchants, ambulant sellers and the University Transport Service (UTS) operating within CLSU.
“We are excited to partner with CLSU in advancing digital transformation through the Cash-Lite Campus initiative,” said LandBank president and chief executive Lynette Ortiz.
“By offering secure and efficient cashless payment solutions, we are equipping students with the financial tools they need, while nurturing a digitally empowered academic community,” she said.
The program will leverage the LandBank Mobile Banking App (MBA) and other e-payment channels to equip students with digital financial skills, reduce cash dependency, and streamline campus transactions.
LandBank also introduced its Piso Plus account, which students can open seamlessly through the LandBank MBA without an initial deposit or maintaining balance requirement.
The launch included a financial literacy session for CLSU students and live demonstrations of online account opening via the LandBank MBA and cashless payments using QR codes.
The initiative is expected to significantly increase digital transactions and facilitate the opening of over 8,000 new accounts.
