Citicore Solar Pangasinan Inc. (CSPI) is seeking the Energy Regulatory Commission’s authority to develop and own dedicated point-to-point facilities to connect the 90-megawatt Sta. Barbara 1 solar power project to the Luzon grid.
CSPI proposed to develop and own interconnection facilities connecting the solar project in Barangay Balingueo, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan to the grid through a 69-kV transmission line going to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines’ (NGCP) Balingueo Substation.
“In order to test, commission and dispatch from the project, CSPI shall develop and construct a dedicated point-to-point facility which will connect the project to the Luzon Grid,” the company said.
CSPI, one of the winning bidders in the Green Energy Auction Program-2, has been aggressively applying for relevant permits to meet its commitment to operate the project.
“Given its aggressive timeline, the completion of the project and the dedicated facility project within its projected timeframe is critical to ensure that additional capacity to the Luzon grid becomes available in a timely manner,” CSPI said.
The interconnection of the project to the NGCP’s Balingueo substation involves the construction of the plant switchyard and transmission line with three phase, 69-kV line, using double-circuit, 1-795 MCM Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforce (ACSR) via steel pole.
The dedicated facility project, costing P176 million, will be exclusively funded by CSPI and will therefore, not impact any regulated charges.
