Kia PH sees 2025 sales hitting 12,500 units with new models

Kia Philippines set a goal of boosting its 2025 sales volume to 12,500 units, up by 86.7 percent from the previous year’s 6,692 units.

The growth plan is supported by a strategic focus on popular models and expanding their lineup, including the highly-anticipated Sonet and a new hybrid offering for the Carnival.

Kia Philippines chief operating officer Brian Buendia shared the company’s confidence in achieving this target.

“The Sonet will have full-year exposure this time around. It is still our bestseller. Last year, we sold nearly 7,000 units, overall, but it was only for half the year. With a full year of sales, we believe the new models will significantly contribute to our numbers,” Buendia said at the launch of the Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid at Glorietta Mall in Makati City Thursday.

Kia also plans to expand its offerings with a new hybrid lineup for the Carnival, further bolstering its presence in the local market.

Buendia said the brand targets to sell 1,500 units of the Sorento Turbo Hybrid for the whole year, with aspirations to hit 2,000 units as it positions the model as an aspirational vehicle for Filipino consumers.

He said the company is no longer just bringing in cars for the sake of it. Instead, Kia is carefully studying the Philippine market before introducing new models.

“We have a few samples in the pipeline that I can’t reveal just yet. But if our research shows good results, we will bring them in,” Buendia said, emphasizing that the brand has always relied on its strategic market approach.

One focus for Kia is the electrification of its lineup. As part of its commitment to e-mobility, Kia is positioning itself as one of the few automakers to offer a comprehensive range of vehicles across all powertrains.

“We offer internal combustion engine models like the Soluto and Seltos as well as diesel. We also have hybrids and full-electric vehicles, including the EV9 and EV6. And there may be another electric vehicle coming soon,” Buendia said.

To ensure sustainable growth, Kia Philippines is also enhancing its dealership network.

“We are continuously ramping up the quality of our dealerships. As of now, around 70 percent of our dealers are showcasing the new corporate logo and the updated store image, which began back in 2022,” he said.

He said Kia would conduct customer experience training to ensure an exceptional end-to-end journey for buyers.
