ALI breaks ground for transport terminal

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Ayala Land Inc. on Monday broke ground for the construction of the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange aimed at improving travel convenience and accessibility for Filipinos.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our continuous pursuit of a modern, efficient, and seamless transportation system. We have not only broken ground on a transformative infrastructure project but also cemented vital partnerships through the signing of three crucial agreements,” DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista said.

“As a multi-modal terminal spanning 5.57 hectares, this facility will provide a well-structured and efficient transfer point for passengers traveling between Laguna, Batangas and Metro Manila,” he said.

Bautista said the terminal would have a capacity of 160,000 passengers and could accommodate 5,200 vehicles daily. “We eagerly anticipate its completion and operational launch in the first quarter of 2027,” he said.

The project will connect passengers coming from the Laguna/Batangas side to other transport systems such as the future North-South Commuter Railway project (currently the Philippine National Railways), city bus, taxi and other public utility vehicles that are serving inner Metro Manila.
