Cavite BRT to start partial operations by September

Megawide Construction Corp. said it expects to start the partial operations of the P1.87-billion Cavite Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) by September 2025.

Megawide chairman Edgar Saavedra told reporters the Cavite BRT is expected to start construction by the second quarter and would start partial operations by September this year.

The partial operations will start from Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to Imus and Trece Martires. “It would take around two years [to complete] the entire facility,” he said.

Saavedra expects less than 10,000 daily passengers initially, aiming to increase ridership to 50,000 within three years. “It would depend on the progress of Cavite,” he said.

Megawide secured the contract to construct and develop the Cavite Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in December 2024.
