Manila Water Company said it extended its pipeline network to 5,542.17 kilometers as part of its efforts to reach and enhance its water services for more than 7.7 million customers in the east zone of Metro Manila and Rizal.
The company said it built over 96 kilometers of pipeline between November 2023 and November 2024.
It said the expansion would support Manila Water’s network distribution from its new water source facilities such as the East Bay Water Supply System Phase 1 (50 million liters per day), Calawis Water Treatment Plant (80 MLD) and Cardona Treatment Plant (110 MLD).
“As the company makes significant investments in the construction of new water sources, it is imperative that these systems have a robust network distribution. In the end, this guarantees that our clients get the service they are entitled to,” Manila Water communication affairs group director Jeric Sevilla said.
The water company also made significant achievements in boosting its sewer network.
The company said it laid an additional 13.33 kilometers of sewer lines from January to November last year, bringing the company’s total sewer network to 482.31 kilometers where 307,492 services are connected.
These lines will ensure that wastewater from customers is properly processed at Manila Water’s sewage treatment plants before its release to waterways.
