SBCorp’s revenues likely exceeded P1b for the first time in 2024

Small Business Corp. (SBCorp), the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development financing arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), said it likely generated over P1 billion in revenues in 2024.

SB Corp. president Robert Bastillo said the initial figures indicate that revenues surpassed the P1-billion mark, the first time in the corporation’s history.

The latest figure represented a threefold increase from its pre-pandemic performance of P358.5 million in 2019, highlighting SBCorp’s robust recovery and growth trajectory following the pandemic.

The corporation’s operating income was also projected to almost double from P228.6 million in 2019 to about P431.1 million in 2024, exceeding the targets approved by the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCGC).

SBCorp credits its impressive financial performance to key initiatives such as the streamlined loan application and approval processes, ensuring faster and more efficient disbursement of government funds.

Building on this momentum, SBCorp announced the launch of its purchase order financing program for MSMEs which provides accessible funding to MSMEs, enabling them to fulfill purchase orders and meet growing consumer demands that are crucial for sustaining business growth.

Under the program, MSMEs that have been operating for at least one year and have successfully served a minimum of three purchase orders in the past three years are eligible to apply for loans.

Businesses may borrow up to 80 percent of the value indicated in their purchase orders, with loan amounts ranging from P30,000 to P20 million at a competitive 1-percent monthly interest rate.

A standout feature of the program is the provision of an increasing credit line of up to P20 million, along with the flexibility of multiple drawdowns against the approved credit limit.

Loan terms range from 30 to 360 days, making the program adaptable to various business needs.

Short-term capital financing is available to MSMEs with purchase orders from domestic and foreign buyers, including the country’s top 5,000 corporations, industry anchor firms and franchisors, and foreign companies importing products from registered Philippine businesses.
