Gov’t employees to get medical allowance

Budget Circular No. 2024-6, which provides the guidelines, rules and regulations on the grant of the medical allowance to qualified civilian government personnel is in line with Executive Order (EO) No. 64 s. 2024, which also prescribes the salary increase for government personnel signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Aug. 2, 2024.

“This is a promise fulfilled. I have long dreamed of this for our countrymen. By 2025, they will be able to receive a medical allowance to help them get an HMO for their health-related expenses. This President Bongbong Marcos promised and now he is fulfilling it for our public servants,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.

The medical allowance, in the amount not exceeding P7,000 per annum, will be given to each qualified civilian government personnel as a subsidy to avail of health maintenance organization (HMO)-type benefits.
