AirAsia Philippines said Thursday it is prepared to fly over 300,000 passengers during the peak holiday season, or from Dec. 16, 2024 to Jan. 6, 2025.
AirAsia Philippines reported a load factor exceeding 80 percent, anticipating a significant surge in booking as Filipinos make last-minute plans to reunite with loved ones for the holidays.
“We expect a significant surge in guest volume this week as many of our kababayans are making last-minute bookings on their holiday plans. While we recognize the excitement that comes with finalizing travel arrangements, we encourage our guests to book flights early as ticket fares increase closer to the travel date,” AirAsia Philippines communications and public affairs head Steve Dailisan said.
“This time is also a good opportunity to secure your return flights in advance for after the holidays as flights will fill up quickly after Christmas,” he said.
As a guest-obsessed airline, AirAsia reactivated its “Always READY sa Pasko’t Bagong Taon” initiative, while strategically optimizing the working schedules of its essential staff to ensure smooth operations during this busy season.
Ground personnel manning the check-in counters were augmented with “on-standby” staff, while customer happiness desks were made easily accessible at key hubs to efficiently assist guests on their various travel requirements and inquiries through the Ask Bo feature on AirAsia MOVE app.
AirAsia Philippines flies to 12 domestic destinations and 13 international destinations as of April 2024.
It was officially launched as the fourth Airline Operations Center (AOC) of the AirAsia group in 2012.
AirAsia is a leading low-cost carrier with licenses to operate in five Asean countries—Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia.
The airline operates more than 200 aircraft and holds a significant orderbook for the next decade.
