The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) announced a two-day extension for the estate tax amnesty, moving the deadline from June 14 to June 16, 2025. This is to allow taxpayers more time to process their applications and payments, it said.
The BIR, in an advisory, reminded all taxpayers that June 16, 2025, a Monday, is the final day for the filing, approval and payment of estate tax amnesty applications.
It advised taxpayers to submit their applications before the deadline to account for standard processing times and bank cut-off hours.
The estate tax amnesty applies to the estates of individuals who passed away on or before May 31, 2022. This includes cases where estate taxes were unpaid or had accrued as of that date, regardless of whether assessments were issued.
The BIR said to take advantage of the amnesty, applicants should submit documents to their concerned Revenue District Office (RDO). These include duly accomplished and sworn Estate Tax Amnesty Return, acceptance payment form with proof of payment and complete documentary requirements.
