Connie Francis, the singer behind the 1962 song “Pretty Little Baby,”has officially joined TikTok following the track’s viral resurgence on the platform.
Now 87, Francis posted her first video over the weekend to thank fans for the renewed attention to the song, which has been used in more than 17 million TikTok videos and has generated over 27 billion views globally.
“I’m flabbergasted and excited about the huge buzz my 1962 recording of ‘Pretty Little Baby’ is making all over the world,” she said in the video.
“To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is captivating new generations of audiences is truly overwhelming for me,” Francis added.
In the caption, she wrote, “My thanks to you all for the huge reception you have given to ‘Pretty Little Baby.’ I am delighted to join the TikTok Community and share this moment with you.”
Originally released on her album “Connie Francis Sings ‘Second Hand Love’ & Other Hits,” the song peaked at No. 111 on the Billboard Top LPs chart. In May, “Pretty Little Baby” entered Spotify’s Global and U.S. charts for the first time.
