German medical technology and digital health innovators are increasingly looking to the Philippines for strategic partnerships and market expansion, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) said Tuesday.
GPCCI welcomed a delegation of German medical innovation companies to the Philippines in a trade mission held on May 5, 2024 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
“We are proud to provide a platform where German innovation and Philippine healthcare priorities can meet. We arranged around 50 B2B meetings to initiate concrete cooperation,” said GPCCI deputy executive director Charlotte Bandelow at the conference.
The mission was organized in collaboration with the Medical Device Association of the Philippines (MDAP), the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAPi), and the Healthcare Technology Association of the Philippines (HTAP), hosted the German-Philippine Conference on Medical Technology and Digital Health.
Part of a broader German business mission, the conference focused on collaboration in medical devices, diagnostics, health IT, and digital health.
It drew 70 stakeholders, including industry leaders, regulators, and public sector representatives, for panel discussions, market briefings, and matchmaking sessions.
Participating German companies included custom cranial implants firm 3di GmbH, architectural designer for elderly and cognitively impaired care BIfadA, digital hygiene platform Clinaris GmbH, scalable MedTech trainor fracto GERDES GB, INOSOLVE GmbH – GxP and MDR compliance consulting, kimetec GmbH, Oehm und Rehbein GmbH, and VISUS Health IT GmbH, a medical data management and PACS software.
GPCCI president Marie Antoniette Mariano said the German group sees strong potential for German firms to contribute to Philippine healthcare, especially in diagnostics, telehealth, and hospital tech.
