Sam Verzosa vows to honor father’s legacy

In a tribute on Instagram, businessman Sam Verzosa paid homage to the man who shaped his life and values—his father, whom he fondly calls “Papa Sammy.”

On Feb. 6, Sam marked the anniversary of his father’s passing, sharing how his father impacted his life.

“On this day, we lost u Papa..siya ang Original SV, sya ang SV Sr,” Sam wrote.

He then described how his father not only gave him his sense of generosity and street-smart approach to life but also inspired him to strive for greatness. For Sam, his father was the foundation upon which he built his work ethic, his ambition, and his desire to help others.

“He was the one who taught me to work hard and never stop proving myself. Because of him, I became someone who helps people and gives back,” Sam continued. His message served as both a remembrance of the values instilled in him by his father and a promise to continue their legacy of hard work and generosity.

In his post, Sam also expressed his gratitude for his father’s teachings, emphasizing how they shaped the way he lives and works today. He recognized the challenges he encountered, especially the negative thoughts that attempted to bring him down. Nevertheless, with strong determination, he promised to keep moving ahead, not only for his own sake but also for his family and to honor his father.

“Don’t worry, even though many are trying to bring me down, I will strive even harder for you and our family,” Sam continued.

At the end of his caption, Sam promised to keep fighting for the family’s future.

“I will fight until the end, Papa, and we will win this! Rest in Power, Papa Sammy,” he ended.

On the other hand, under the shadow of the Bonifacio Shrine, businessman and philanthropist Sam “SV” Verzosa rallied a spirited crowd, dedicating his advocacy for Manila’s public welfare to his late father.

His advocacy focuses on ensuring accessible public resources, empowering small businesses, and preserving Manila’s heritage for future generations. He decried the privatization of key city properties, including public markets like Divisoria, educational institutions such as Universidad de Manila, and land historically meant for residents.

Verzosa also emphasized that his goal was not just to highlight these issues but to work towards real, lasting solutions that benefit Manila’s working-class citizens.
