The emergency signal was monitored by the Maritime Situation Awareness Center – North (MSAC-N) and the Naval Monitoring Detachment Pasuquin (NMD Pasuquin).

The mechanical trouble restricted Udosarang’s ability to maneuver, prompting the NFNL to take immediate action.

After establishing contact with the foreign vessel, the Navy ship escorted it to Sual, Pangasinan, where it could safely fix its machines.

The nine Filipino crew members of the Korean vessel were reportedly safe and sound.
