Naval assets pitch in to control Cebu fire

The Naval Forces Central (NFC) deployed troops to assist in controlling a huge fire in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

According to the Philippine Navy, the NFC immediately dispatched a Disaster Response Task Unit (DRTU) along with a fire truck from the Naval Installation and Facilities – Central (NIF-C) to assist in controlling the fire, which had escalated to the Fifth Alarm.

The fire was swiftly controlled and extinguished through the coordinated efforts of NFC DRTU, Lapu-Lapu City Fire District, and other emergency response teams from the Lapu-Lapu City LGU.

The Lapu-Lapu City Fire District is currently investigating the cause of the fire, as well as assessing the extent of the damage. This rapid and collaborative response highlighted the readiness and efficiency of the involved units in preventing further casualties and damage.
