Airport Manager Manuela Luisa Palma, along with a CAAP safety officer and other airport officials and supervisors, met with Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas on Monday to discuss the brief operational interruption at the airport.

On Sunday, the airport was closed due to two potholes detected on Runway 02. Immediate action was taken to prioritize the safety of passengers, flight crews, and aircraft.

“We understand that this temporary closure may inconvenience travelers and affect the local economy. However, the safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority,” said Palma.

A Notice to Airmen was issued to promptly inform airlines and stakeholders about the planned repairs.
