Actor and host Luis Manzano and singer-songwriter Jayda have teamed up in a video to make fun of the one thing they have in common—being a nepo baby.
Following a trend that involves someone introducing themselves along with what people assume about them, the pair took turns saying what people have been telling them as children of well-known figures in the industry.
“I’m a nepo baby, of course, lagi akong tinatanong kung kanino ako nagmana,” said Jayda.
“I’m a nepo baby, of course, sinasakyan ko lang ang kasikatan ng magulang ko,” said Luis.
While Luis joked about how he became famous despite not having any talent, Jayda further shared how people believe that being a nepo baby made it easy to enter the industry.
“We’re nepo babies, of course, wala kaming choice sa mga magulang namin,” said Jayda towards the end of the video.
A nepo baby, or nepotism baby, is a term usually given to people whose parents took similar careers to them. This often leads to the assumption that such people easily get into their respective careers simply because of the success of their parents.
