A home is more than just shelter. It is security, comfort, and hope. Through its flagship housing programs, GSIS is making it possible for more members to move from renting to owning.
The Lease with Option to Buy (LWOB) program offers members the chance to lease a GSIS property with the option to own it later, without down payment, and through affordable installment plans. In 2025, LWOB was honored at the GovMedia Awards in Singapore as one of Asia’s most innovative government housing initiatives.
With tools like the LWOB Dashboard and Map Locator, members can easily search available units across the country. As of May 15, 2025, the program has helped 3,360 families start their journey to homeownership, with properties valued at P2.84 billion.
Meanwhile, the Housing Accounts Restructuring and Condonation Program (HARCP) offers relief to housing borrowers struggling with payments. It provides a reduced 6% interest rate; extended payment term of up to 10 years; 50% discount on interest if paid in full; and full waiver of penalties and surcharges
HARCP has given relief to 1,618 borrowers by condoning P2.6 billion in penalties and granting P175 million in interest discounts. It helped borrowers avoid foreclosure and regain control of their homeownership journey. These programs are not just about home, they’re about preserving dignity and giving our modern-day heroes, a place they can truly call their own.
