Meanwhile, the 2nd-ranked Arellano University Baby Chiefs and the Emilio Aguinaldo College Lady Brigadiers face off in the other semifinal pairing.

Meanwhile, coach Sandy Rieta’s junior Altas, who finished the elims unscatched at 9-0, will face no. 4 Arellano University (6-3 win-loss slate).

No. 2-ranked Letran takes on no. 3 Mapua in the other semis battle.

The Junior Altas and Junior Lady Altas Spikers swept their elims assignments as they both clinched twice-to-beat advantages, needing to win just once in the semis to advance to the Best-of-Three Finals starting on May 29.

The Perpetual Junior Altas crushed the defending champion Mapua Red Robins in the final playdate of the #NCAASeason100 Juniors’ Volleyball Tournament in 2 sets, 25-23, 25-13 in just 45 minutes of play at the Arellano U gym in Pasay City last Monday.

Gabriel Macatuno finished with a game-high 10 points, while Zyro Ornos and Nathan Ciriaco added 9 and 7 (respectively). John Lat and Resty Santos 5 pts apiece.

With the win, they completed a 9-0 win loss record, which qualifies them for their first twice-to-beat advantage in the next round.

The Letran Squires, on the other hand, secured rank no. 2 by defeating Arellano U in 3 sets, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23.

“Umaasa ako na kaya ng mga players ko na makabalik sa finals,” Rieta said.
