With world-class venues available, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte is bracing for the 2025 Palarong Pambansa slated from May 24 to June 2.
DepEd secretary Sonny Angara said the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, led by Governor Matthew Manotoc, has been working hard to prepare the venues for the annual school sports meet.
And they have taken the pains to make the facilities live up to international standards.
“And now, we are looking forward to having good matches played at the Palaro,” said Angara.
The province, along with DepEd-Region I and the Schools Division Office of Ilocos Norte, is hosting the 65th Palarong Pambansa, with around 15,000 participants from 18 delegations, including the National Academy of Sports.
Promising swimmers from the National Capital Region are expected to dominate again with the 2025 Palarong Pambansa just around the corner.
This time, Behrouz Mohammad “Madi” Mojdeh will lead the NCR bets, who have secured a ticket to the national meet following an impressive showing at the National Capital Region qualifying meet recently at the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center in Muntinlupa City.
Mojdeh booked his spot for after claiming the silver medal in the boys’ secondary 200-meter butterfly event, with a time of two minutes and 15.43 seconds.
He will join swimmers who are representing Quezon City like Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) swimmers Jacob Blanco Thor Cziomer, Rodrigo Pablo, and Joaquin Plazo. Peter Atencio
Jacob collected two silvers for individual events, namely the 400m freestyle and the 100m backstroke. He will be joined by Joaquin, Rodrigo, and Thor in the 4x100m medley relay, for which they won bronze.
Last year, it was Albert Jose Amaro II of San Beda, who dominated the swimming meet, when Amaro harvested a record seven mints in the Palaro in Cebu City last July.
