The New Taipei Kings secured the final berth in the 2024-25 EASL Final Four with a nail-biting 106-96 double-overtime victory over the Meralco Bolts.
With this win, the Kings claim the No. 2 seed in Group B and make history as the first team to qualify for back-to-back EASL Final Fours.
Finishing the regular season with a 4-2 record, the Kings overcame early-season struggles to solidify their place among the league’s elite. Their only losses came at the hands of the Group B leaders, the Ryukyu Golden Kings, and the Macau Black Bears, a 2024-25 expansion team.
After a slow 1-2 start, New Taipei roared back to close the season on a dominant three-game winning streak, capped by an emphatic 99-63 victory over Ryukyu on January 8.
As the No. 2 seed from Group B, the Kings now complete the EASL Final Four lineup and will face Japan’s Hiroshima Dragonflies, the No. 1 seed from Group A, in the first semifinal on March 7 at 6:30 p.m. HKT. The Final Four will be held at Studio City Macau from March 7-9.
