The stage is set for the final game of the 2024-25 EASL regular season as the Meralco Bolts travel to Taiwan to take on the New Taipei Kings in a high-stakes showdown.
Both teams face a must-win scenario, with the victor advancing to Macau for the prestigious EASL Final Four 2025 and a shot at the $1.75 million prize pool.
For the Bolts, a win secures a 3-3 record and the No. 2 seed in Group B. Despite a potential three-way tie with New Taipei and the Macau Black Bears, Meralco holds the tiebreaker advantage thanks to head-to-head victories against both teams (2-0).
In contrast, Macau and New Taipei would finish 1-2 in those matchups, cementing Meralco’s spot in the semifinals.
A victory would mark a historic milestone for Meralco, solidifying them as the most successful PBA team in the EASL’s home-and-away era, which began in the 2023-24 season.
Last year, both PBA teams combined for just two wins—a feat Meralco already matched on November 13 with a dramatic 81-80 victory over Busan KCC Egis (KBL). Now, the Bolts aim to make history by becoming the first PBA team to reach the EASL Final Four.
